Astrologin is the feminine noun in German for a person who practices astrology; the masculine form is Astrolog. The term derives from Greek astro- "star" and logos "study" or "discourse" via German linguistic borrowing. In German-language contexts, astrologin denotes a female astrologer, while astrolog denotes a male astrologer; many contexts use gender-neutral terms or both forms.

Astrology is a belief system and set of practices that interpret the positions and movements of celestial bodies to gain insight into personality, relationships, or future events. A typical consultation may involve the analysis of a natal chart (birth chart), which maps planetary positions at the time of birth, and the interpretation of signs, houses, and aspects. Other approaches include transit readings, progressions, or synastry (comparison of two charts).

Astrologin practitioners may work independently, in workshops, or within spiritual or holistic contexts. There is no consensus in the scientific community that astrology has empirical validity, and it is generally regarded as a pseudoscience; astrology-based services are offered primarily as guidance or entertainment, not as tested medical or financial advice.

In German-speaking countries, astrologinnen may publish horoscopes in media, provide personal readings, or teach astrology through courses and associations. The field encompasses multiple traditions, including Western astrology and, in broader usage, Vedic or Chinese astrology.
