aralklaryla
Aralklaryla is a genus of small, burrowing arthropods that was first described in 2018 by a team of Russian entomologists studying the semi‑arid steppes of the Aral region. The genus is placed within the family Travancorini of the order Forcipulida, a group that includes species characterized by heavily sclerotised exoskeletons and a distinctive short, conical head. Two species have been formally described to date, Aralklaryla aralensis and Aralklaryla larylensis, both of which are known only from the western fringes of the Aral Sea basin.
Morphologically, members of Aralklaryla are small, with adult body lengths ranging from 3.2 to 3.8 millimetres.
Ecologically, Aralklaryla species occupy sandy, loamy soils and are thought to play a role in soil aeration
The genus is of particular scientific interest because it represents a lineage that appears to have adapted
