Approachklarering is an aviation term referring to the air traffic control instruction that authorizes an arriving aircraft to begin an instrument approach to a specified aerodrome and to proceed toward a landing. In English-language contexts it corresponds to an approach clearance, and the Danish term is commonly used in Nordic operations.

The clearance is typically issued when the aircraft is in a position from which the published instrument approach can be followed safely. It identifies the approach procedure (for example ILS, VOR, or RNAV), the runway in use, and any necessary altitude, speed, or transition restrictions. The clearance may also include instructions related to descent, routing, or a specific transition to the final approach.

Operationally, once a pilot receives approachklarering, the aircraft follows the prescribed approach path and altitude/speed constraints as published. Control may hand the aircraft off to the final approach or tower controller as the aircraft nears the final approach. If the flight crew cannot comply with the restrictions or needs to deviate for traffic or weather reasons, they must communicate with ATC and obtain a revised clearance.

Safety and coordination are central to approachklarering. The clearance remains in effect until the aircraft is either cleared for a landing by the tower or executes a published missed-approach procedure.
