Apenso is a term used in Italian and some Lusophone administrative and legal languages to indicate something that is attached or appended to a primary document. It functions as an adjective and sometimes as a noun, referring to attachments, annexes, or appended files within a dossier or file.

In Italian usage, apenso qualifies documents sent as part of an official filing. Phrases such as "documento apenso al fascicolo" or "l'apenso X" appear in civil, fiscal, and administrative contexts. The term is often considered a formal equivalent of allegato, though apenso emphasizes a formal attachment that accompanies the main document. When multiple attachments exist, each may be described as an apenso to the main document, commonly enumerated in a table of attachments or in descriptive notes.

In Portuguese usage, "em apenso" or "apenso ao processo" denotes documents appended to a file or dossier in legal and bureaucratic contexts. The noun apenso is used similarly to annex or appendix in formal documents, appearing in petitions, administrative acts, and correspondence between agencies.

Relation to other terms: Apenso is closely related to, but distinct from, terms like anexo, allegato, or apêndice. While all refer to supplementary material, apenso is particularly common in official filings to indicate materials that accompany and form part of the record.
