Antenneja is a term used in discussions of advanced antenna technology to describe a family of compact, modular antenna units designed for flexible, multi-band operation in urban wireless networks. The concept emphasizes reconfigurability, enabling a single physical unit to adapt its radiation pattern, polarization, and frequency range to changing network conditions.

Each antenneja module combines several folded dipole or patch elements on a shared substrate with a tunable matching network and a microcontroller or software-defined radio interface. Metamaterial inclusions or tunable reactance allow broad frequency coverage from VHF to microwave bands. The modules are designed to be mounted on buildings, vehicles, or street furniture and can form arrays with neighboring units to create directional beams or coverage patches.

Control software uses channel state information to adjust beamforming weights, impedance matching, and element activation. Power consumption is minimized through sleep modes; some implementations integrate energy harvesting, such as solar panels, to reduce grid power dependence.

Antenneja concepts are discussed in research on urban mesh networks, emergency communications, and Internet of Things deployments where rapid redeployment and low-profile hardware are valuable. They are not yet standardized and remain in the research or development stage; commercial products using similar ideas exist under different names.
