Amplitudová is an adjective used in Czech to describe phenomena, quantities or processes related to amplitude—the magnitude of a periodic oscillation or wave. It appears in technical terms such as amplitudová modulace, amplitudová charakteristika or amplitudová frekvenční charakteristika, and serves to distinguish amplitude-related properties from other aspects like phase or frequency.

In physics and engineering, amplitude denotes the maximum displacement of a wave from its equilibrium position. For a harmonic motion, the amplitude A determines the strength or loudness of the signal; in electrical and audio contexts, it is commonly measured in volts or meters and may vary with time. The energy of a wave is typically related to the square of its amplitude, making amplitude a central parameter in many analyses.

Concretely, amplitudová modulace (AM) is a method of conveying information by varying the amplitude of a carrier wave while its frequency remains fixed. In signal processing, the amplitudová charakteristika or amplitude response describes how a system scales input signal amplitudes across frequencies, while the related phase response describes timing shifts.
