Additivn is a term used in mathematical literature to denote the additive property or an additive object within a given algebraic or measure-theoretic context. In its core sense, additivn describes a behavior where the whole is determined by the sum of its parts, respecting the underlying operation of the structure in question.

In the context of functions, additivn typically means that a function f defined on an abelian group (G, +) with values in another abelian group (H, +) satisfies f(x + y) = f(x) + f(y) for all x and y in G. Such functions are called additive, and they include familiar examples like homomorphisms between groups and linear maps when the domain is a vector space over a field. Additivity is a key ingredient in many functional equations, including the Cauchy equation.
