Adbugs, also known as bedbugs, are small, oval-shaped insects that belong to the family Cimicidae. They are known for their ability to feed on human blood, making them a significant pest in both residential and commercial settings. Adbugs are approximately 4-5 millimeters in length and have a reddish-brown color, although they can appear darker or lighter depending on their feeding status. Their bodies are flat and oval, with six legs and two antennae.

Adbugs are nocturnal creatures, preferring to hide during the day and feed at night. They are excellent hitchhikers and can travel long distances by clinging to luggage, clothing, and other items. This makes them a common problem in hotels, motels, and other places where people frequently change locations.

The life cycle of adbugs consists of four stages: egg, nymph, adult, and dead. Eggs are laid in cracks and crevices and can hatch within a few days. Nymphs, which are smaller versions of adults, go through five molts before becoming adults. Adbugs can live for several months without a blood meal, but they will die if they cannot find a host within a few weeks.

Adbugs are not known to transmit diseases, but their bites can cause itching and allergic reactions in some individuals. They are also known to cause psychological stress due to their persistent nature and the difficulty in eliminating them. Effective control measures include regular cleaning, vacuuming, and the use of insecticides.
