Zorundayz is a fictional species created for a transmedia storytelling project that originated in the online science fiction and fantasy community in the mid-2010s. In the project’s canon, zorundayz are small, arboreal mammals known for bioluminescent skin patches that shift color to convey emotional state, social status, and group coordination. The concept has been developed across novels, digital art, and interactive media, making it a staple example of an emergent, user-influenced universe.

In physical description, adult zorundayz typically measure about 12 to 18 centimeters in body length with a prehensile tail that aids in balancing among dense forest canopies. They weigh roughly 120 to 250 grams. Their large eyes and nocturnal habits suit a dim forest environment. Color changes on their skin range from cool blues and greens when relaxed to bright yellows and oranges during brief mating displays or moments of alarm. Socially, they live in loose, matriarchal groups and communicate through a combination of vocalizations, scent signaling, and rapid color shifts.

Ecology and behavior are presented as tightly interwoven with the fauna of the fictional Terquian Archipelago, where zorundayz feed on fruit, nectar, and small invertebrates.
