Zeitganger is a neologism that has emerged to describe a person who appears to be out of sync with contemporary trends and societal norms. The term, derived from the German words "Zeit" (time) and "Ganger" (walker or goer), suggests an individual who walks or operates through time differently than their peers. This can manifest in various ways, such as an anachronistic sense of style, an interest in outdated technologies or cultural phenomena, or a perceived lack of awareness regarding current popular culture.

Unlike someone who is simply nostalgic, a zeitganger's disconnect often seems more ingrained, as if they inhabit a slightly different temporal space.
