Zeitfahren
Zeitfahren, also known as time trial in English, is a competitive cycling discipline where individual riders or teams race against the clock over a set distance. The objective is to complete the course in the shortest possible time. Unlike mass start races where riders compete directly against each other on the road simultaneously, in a Zeitfahren, riders start at pre-determined intervals, typically one or two minutes apart. This prevents drafting, where a rider can conserve energy by riding behind another.
