Yönetilmektedir

Yönetilmektedir is a Turkish verb form meaning “is being governed” or “is being managed.” It is the present continuous passive form of yönetmek (to govern, to manage). The construction combines the verb stem yönet-, the passive marker -il-, the infinitive suffix -mek, and the present continuous ending -mektedir, producing yönetilmektedir. This form is used to describe an ongoing governance or administration by an agent, often in formal or official contexts.

The agent of a passive action in Turkish is typically indicated with the word tarafından (by). For example: Şirket, Yönetim Kurulu tarafından yönetilmektedir, meaning “The company is being managed by the Board of Directors.” Other contexts include describing the management of a country, a city, or an organization: Ülke şu anda merkezi hükümet tarafından yönetilmektedir.

Yönetilmektedir is most common in written or formal Turkish, such as reports, news articles, or official statements, where the emphasis is on ongoing action rather than completion. It contrasts with other passive forms such as yönetilir (present simple passive) or yönetildi (past passive).
