tarafndan

Tarafından is a Turkish postpositional form used to mark the agent in a passive clause, roughly equivalent to the English word “by.” It is derived from the noun taraf (side, party, actor in a situation) combined with the ablative suffix -ından, producing tarafından. The form is standard Turkish and is written as tarafından.

In Turkish grammar, tarafından appears after the noun that performs the action in a passive sentence. It

Examples:

- Bu karar Meclis tarafından alındı. (This decision was made by the Parliament.)

- Haberler devlet başkanı tarafından açıklandı. (The news was announced by the president.)

- Eser, ünlü bir yazar tarafından yazılmıştır. (The work was written by a famous author.)

Notes:

- The form is used regardless of the number of the agent (singular or plural) by placing tarafından

- In everyday conversation Turkish often favors simpler expressions, but tarafından remains standard in formal or written
