Ykromoszómális
Ykromoszómális refers to anything related to the Y chromosome. In humans and many other mammals, sex is determined by the sex chromosomes. Females typically have two X chromosomes (XX), while males typically have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome (XY). The Y chromosome is significantly smaller than the X chromosome and carries a gene called the SRY gene, which is crucial for the development of male reproductive organs. Its presence dictates the male sex in most mammals. Beyond sex determination, the Y chromosome also contains genes that influence other traits, though its role is less extensive than that of the X chromosome. Genetic studies often examine variations or mutations on the Y chromosome to trace paternal lineage due to its inheritance pattern. The Y chromosome is passed down directly from father to son. This unique inheritance allows for the study of population genetics and human migration patterns.
