Yaxshilashga

Yaxshilashga is a non-finite form of the Uzbek verb yaxshilash, meaning “to improve.” The suffix -ga marks purpose or direction, so yaxshilashga can be rendered as “for improving” or “in order to improve.” In grammar, it functions as an infinitive of purpose and is commonly used in formal and written Uzbek to express aims, goals, or motivations of actions.

Usage and examples. Yaxshilashga harakat qilmoq or yaxshilashga intilmoq are typical constructions to indicate the effort to improve. Examples: Biz ta’lim sifatini yaxshilashga intilamiz. (We strive to improve the quality of education.) U ta’minot bo‘limini yaxshilashga yo‘naltirilgan reja ishlab chiqdi. (He developed a plan aimed at improving the supply department.) Kurslar yaxshilashga qaratilgan takliflar berdi. (The courses offered proposals aimed at improvement.) These uses show yaxshilashga as a purpose-oriented form that accompanies verbs of striving, planning, or directing.

Etymology and related forms. The form derives from the verb yaxshilash (to improve) with the dative-like suffix -ga. It is related to the noun yaxshilanish (improvement, becoming better) and to the bare infinitive yaxshilash used for general statements about improvement.
