XIXlea

XIXlea is a coastal city in Verdancia, a fictional constitutional republic on the southern coast of the continent of Elaria. It is the seat of Marin Province and a major regional economic and cultural center, with a port that handles both commercial traffic and passenger ferries.

The name combines the Roman numeral XIX with lea, an Old English word for meadow, reflecting its origin as a 19th-century port settlement on a meadow near the estuary.

XIXlea lies at the mouth of the Lys River, sheltered by a natural harbor. The city covers about 98 square kilometers and has a population around 320,000 in the metropolitan area.

Founded in the late 18th century by merchant families, XIXlea grew during the 19th century as a shipbuilding and trading hub. The 20th century brought industrial growth and later port modernization and urban renewal.
