Wypowiedzenie

Wypowiedzenie is a unilateral act of terminating a contract by one party, effective after a specified notice period. It is most commonly associated with employment law in Poland, but the term is also used for other civil contracts, such as leases or service agreements.

In the context of an employment contract (umowa o pracę), wypowiedzenie can be submitted by either the

the
notice
period

delivery

The
length
of
the
notice
period

for
employment
from
over
6
months
up
to

years,
and
3
months
for
employment
lasting
3
years
or
more.
During
the
notice
period
the
contract
remains
in
force
and
the
employee
continues
to
perform
duties
(unless
the
parties
agree
otherwise).
There
are
circumstances
for
termination
without
notice
(wypowiedzenie
bez
wypowiedzenia)
in
cases
of
serious
breach
or
other
specified
grounds,
in
which
the
contract
ends
immediately
or
after
a
shorter
period,
with
potential
compensation.

tenancy
agreements.
The
rules,
required
form,
and
notice
periods
are
governed
by
the
specific
contract
terms
or
applicable
statutory
provisions,
and
may
differ
from
those
in
labor
law.
In
all
cases,
the
notice
period
and
the
effect
of
termination
are
typically
defined
in
the
contract
or
by
statute
and
aim
to
regulate
the
orderly
end
of
the
relationship
and
protect
the
interests
of
both
parties.
