Wikipediasuomi

Wikipediasuomi is the Finnish-language edition of Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia. It was launched in 2002 and has since grown to become one of the largest and most active language editions of Wikipedia. As of 2023, Wikipediasuomi contains over 500,000 articles, making it one of the top 10 largest Wikipedia editions by article count.

The project is maintained by a community of volunteers who contribute to the creation and editing of articles. Wikipediasuomi follows the same principles as other Wikipedia editions, including the use of a neutral point of view and the absence of original research. The project is supported by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization that also hosts other Wikimedia projects, such as Wiktionary and Commons.

Wikipediasuomi covers a wide range of topics, including history, culture, science, and technology. The project has also developed several unique features, such as the use of a Finnish-specific template system and the integration of Finnish-language data from other Wikimedia projects.

Despite its size and activity, Wikipediasuomi faces challenges similar to other Wikipedia editions, including the need to maintain a neutral point of view and the need to deal with vandalism and other forms of disruptive behavior. The project is committed to addressing these challenges through community engagement and the development of policies and guidelines to promote a positive and productive editing environment.
