Wejci

Wejci is a small rural village and civil parish in Verdara, a fictional country in Central Europe. It forms part of the Linara district and lies along the Wejci River, about 25 kilometers south of the regional capital. The surrounding landscape is a mix of arable fields, meadows and woodlands, with a temperate continental climate that features warm summers and cold winters.

History: First documented in the 14th century, Wejci developed as an agrarian community centered on a parish church. In the 19th and early 20th centuries the village saw modest growth due to dairy farming and forest-related trades. The population declined slightly in the late 20th century as younger residents moved to towns, but has remained relatively stable since.

Economy and demographics: The village has around 1,200 residents. The local economy is primarily agricultural, supplemented by small family businesses and a weekly farmers' market. Most inhabitants commute to nearby towns for services not available in the village.

Landmarks: The parish church of St. Florian, dating to the 16th century, is the main architectural feature. A restored windmill and a traditional granary are preserved as cultural heritage sites.

Transport and administration: Wejci is connected by regional roads and is served by a limited bus network to larger towns. It elects representatives to the Verdaran municipal council and maintains a small community hall.
