Waschtank

Waschtank is a tank used to hold wash water or cleaning solutions for cleaning processes in industry and appliances. It serves as a reservoir and source for washing, recirculation, and often heating. The term is used across sectors such as automotive, electronics, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.

Design and features: Waschtanks are typically made of stainless steel or food-grade plastic, and they come in a range of sizes from small laboratory vessels to large industrial tanks. Common components include a pump for recirculation, spray nozzles or arms, heating elements, filtration or skimming systems, and dosing units for detergents or solvents. Many tanks are designed for clean-in-place operation and can be integrated into a cleaning skid or a dishwasher line. Temperature control ranges from ambient to several tens of degrees Celsius to aid cleaning and sanitization.

Operation and use: The tank holds a cleaning solution or wash water, which is circulated through the load and may be heated to improve cleaning efficiency. The solution is replenished or refreshed to maintain cleaning power, and the system may perform a rinse, followed by drainage and return to idle. In hygienic applications, cleaning validation and sanitary design standards are often required.

Maintenance and safety: Regular inspection for corrosion, seals, and pump wear; periodic cleaning to remove residues; calibration of temperature and level sensors; correct disposal of cleaning agents. Materials and construction aim to minimize contamination risk and comply with applicable regulations and industry standards.
