Waistthigh

Waistthigh refers to the body region spanning from the natural waist to the upper thigh. In anatomy it covers the lower torso and proximal leg, with the boundary between torso and thigh commonly around the inguinal crease, though exact demarcations vary among individuals. The term is not a formal anatomical label but is used descriptively in fashion, garment construction, and body measurement discussions.

In clothing design and pattern making, waist-to-thigh length describes how far a garment extends from the waist to the lower portion of the thigh. Garments described as waist-to-thigh length might include certain shorts, bodysuits, or leggings that terminate near or above the mid-thigh, providing specific coverage, mobility, and silhouette. The measurement is sometimes used alongside waist, hip, and inseam measurements to determine fit.

How it is measured: a tape measure is placed at the natural waist and run straight down to the desired hem at the mid-thigh. Designers may adjust for personal preferences, fabric behavior, and style intent; individuals may select sizes or adjustments based on how much of the thigh should be exposed or covered.
