WJZ

WJZ is a television station licensed to Baltimore, Maryland, serving the Baltimore metropolitan area. It operates on virtual channel 13 and digital channel 16. The station is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and is affiliated with the CBS television network. WJZ is the flagship station of Sinclair and is also the CBS affiliate for Baltimore. Its broadcast tower is located in Reisterstown, Maryland.

The station began broadcasting on January 31, 1948, as WAAM, making it one of the earliest television stations in the United States. It became WJZ in 1959 when it was purchased by Westinghouse Broadcasting. Westinghouse later sold the station to CBS, which then sold it to Sinclair Broadcast Group in 1995.
