Reisterstown is a census-designated place located in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is situated northwest of Baltimore City. The community's history dates back to the 18th century, with its name derived from a German immigrant named John Reister. Reister established a tavern and milling operation in the area, which became a central point for early settlers.
