Würfels

Würfels are a type of dice commonly used in tabletop role-playing games and other hobbyist pursuits. They are characterized by their polyhedral shape, with each face being a flat surface meeting at a common vertex. The most common Würfel is the d6, a cube with faces numbered 1 through 6. However, a variety of other Würfels exist, including d4, d8, d10, d12, and d20, each with a different number of faces and corresponding number of possible outcomes.

Würfels are typically made from plastic, resin, or sometimes metal. The numbers or symbols on their faces are usually etched or printed. The outcome of a Würfel roll is determined by which face lands uppermost after being thrown. In games, different Würfels are used to determine success or failure of actions, damage dealt by weapons, or the outcome of random events. The variety of Würfels allows for a wide range of probabilities and randomizers to be implemented in game mechanics. Specialized Würfels with non-standard numbering or unique symbols are also available for specific games or custom mechanics. The term "Würfel" itself is German for "cube" or "die," reflecting the common association with six-sided dice.
