Väljundimpedants

Väljundimpedants, often translated as output impedance, is a fundamental electrical property of a device or circuit. It represents the opposition to the flow of alternating current that a source presents to a load. More technically, it is the impedance measured at the output terminals of a device when the internal energy source is turned off or replaced by its internal impedance.

Understanding output impedance is crucial in audio systems, as it affects how power is transferred to a speaker. For instance, a low output impedance amplifier is generally preferred for driving speakers because it can deliver more current and better control the speaker's movement, leading to improved bass response and overall sound quality. Conversely, a high output impedance can lead to signal loss and distortion when connected to a load.

In signal processing and measurement devices, output impedance influences the accuracy of readings when connected to other instruments. Matching the output impedance of one stage to the input impedance of the next stage is often important for maximizing signal transfer and minimizing reflections. It is typically measured in ohms.
