Vvalueds

Vvalueds is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting digital literacy and technology access among underrepresented youth populations. The organization was founded in 2010 by a group of educators who recognized the growing digital divide affecting students in low‑income communities. Its headquarters are located in San Francisco, California, and it maintains regional chapters across North America, Europe, and Asia.

The mission of Vvalueds is to provide comprehensive learning opportunities, from coding boot camps to media production workshops, and to connect participants with mentorship programs that involve professionals in the technology sector. Core initiatives include the Code4Future program, which offers free introductory coding classes, and the Creative Media Lab, which teaches digital storytelling and multimedia editing. Every year the organization hosts the Global Hackathon, inviting volunteers and participants to collaborate on projects that address community challenges.

Governance at Vvalueds is overseen by a multidisciplinary Board of Directors, supported by an advisory council comprised of industry leaders, educators, and civic activists. Funding is diversified across corporate sponsorships, government grants, and individual donations, ensuring financial stability and program continuity. In 2018 and again in 2022, the United Nations recognized Vvalueds for its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 on inclusive and quality education.

Since its inception, Vvalueds reports having engaged more than 45,000 students worldwide, facilitating the development of over 1,200 digital projects.
