Piston pumps are also used in lubrication. These pumps employ reciprocating pistons to draw lubricant into cylinders and then push it out under pressure. Piston pumps can generate high pressures and are often used in systems requiring precise metering of lubricant.

Finally, screw pumps are another option. Screw pumps utilize one or more rotating screws to move the lubricant axially from the inlet to the outlet. They are characterized by their smooth, pulsation-free flow and ability to handle viscous fluids. Each type has its advantages and is selected based on the specific demands of the application.
