VoLTE

VoLTE, short for Voice over LTE, is an IP-based voice service that runs over 4G LTE networks rather than traditional circuit-switched voice channels. It uses the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) for signaling and media control and typically relies on SIP for call setup. VoLTE supports higher-quality audio, often referred to as HD voice, and enables faster call setup and simultaneous use of data services during a call.

Operation and technology: A VoLTE call travels entirely over the LTE data path, with both parties' devices

Benefits and considerations: The main advantages are clearer speech, faster call setup, and the ability to browse

Adoption: VoLTE has been widely deployed by mobile operators worldwide and is common on modern smartphones.
