Vliehors
Vliehors is a long, barren sandy plain at the western tip of the Dutch island of Vlieland, in the province of Friesland. The landscape consists of wind-swept dunes and flat sand flats, giving the area a desert-like character. The Vliehors forms part of Vlieland’s nature reserve within the Wadden Sea and is valued for its open landscape as well as its coastal and bird habitats.
Historically, the area has been used as a military training ground by the Royal Netherlands Army. For
