Virtajännitekäyrät

Virtajännitekäyrät, often translated as current-voltage characteristics or I-V curves, are graphical representations illustrating the relationship between the electric current flowing through a component or device and the voltage applied across it. These curves are fundamental tools in electronics for understanding and characterizing the behavior of various components such as resistors, diodes, transistors, and solar cells.

For a simple resistor following Ohm's Law, the virtajännitekäyrä is a straight line passing through the origin, with the slope of the line representing the resistance. Deviations from this linear relationship indicate non-linear behavior. Diodes, for instance, exhibit a non-linear virtajännitekäyrä where current flows predominantly in one direction once a certain forward voltage threshold is reached.
