Villaltaskaala is a coastal municipality in the northern country of Nordvik. It lies along the Gulf of Lyria and comprises the mainland village core and a ring of small islands connected by ferries. The area covers about 210 square kilometers and features mixed forests, farmland, and rocky shorelines. The municipal climate is temperate with cool summers and frequent maritime rainfall.

Name and history: The name combines old settlements Villalta and Skaala, and historically the area developed as a fishing and trading port. Villaltaskaala gained municipal rights in the 19th century and expanded through amalgamation with neighboring communities in the late 20th century.

Population and governance: As of 2023, the municipality has roughly 9,500 residents. It is governed by a 15-member municipal council elected every four years; the council elects a mayor. The local administration provides services in education, infrastructure, and culture.
