Vietnamkriget, also known as the Second Indochina War, was a major armed conflict that took place from 1 November 1955 to 30 April 1975. The war was fought between North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other anti-communist countries. The conflict was a result of the broader Cold War and the ongoing struggle for independence in Vietnam from French colonial rule.
