Vetyatomiin

Vetyatomiin is a Finnish term that commonly appears in discussions of atomic physics and chemistry to refer to the hydrogen atom, the simplest atom consisting of a single proton in the nucleus and a single electron bound by the electromagnetic force. It serves as a foundational model system for understanding quantum mechanics, spectroscopy, and fundamental interactions.

In quantum mechanics, the electron is described by a wavefunction governed by the Schrödinger equation. The energy levels are labeled by the principal quantum number n, with approximate nonrelativistic energies E_n = -13.6 eV / n^2 for a stationary, infinitely massive nucleus.
