Vesivaaka

Vesivaaka, literally meaning "water scale" in Finnish, is a term used to describe instruments or methods that rely on water as the measuring medium or balancing agent. There is no single standardized device by this name; its meaning varies with context.

In physics and engineering, vesivaaka often denotes a hydrostatic balance in which an object's weight is inferred by buoyancy in water or by balancing against a known column of water. The principle is based on Archimedes' principle and typically involves a lever, a floating element, or a sealed container that indicates equilibrium.
