Verlandia

Verlandia, officially the Republic of Verlandia, is a sovereign state in the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. It has a varied landscape that includes rolling plains, mixed forests, and a short coastline along the Veridian Sea. The capital is Verhaven, and the country is divided into twelve provinces.

Verlandia operates as a semi-presidential representative democracy. The President is the head of state; the Prime Minister chairs the cabinet and leads the government. Legislative power rests with a bicameral parliament. The current constitution was adopted in 1985.

Verlandia has a diversified economy with sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, and services. Renewable energy and high-tech manufacturing are growing. The currency is the Ver, and the population is about five million. The official language is Verlish; minority languages include Lania and Soret.

Verlandia emerged from a medieval confederation and achieved independence in the 19th century. In the late 20th century, it transitioned to a parliamentary system and joined international organizations. Verlandian culture emphasizes regional cuisines, literature, and music. National symbols include the Vercrest and the national football team.

The Ver River flows through the central plains, supporting agriculture and regional towns. Verlandia hosts several universities and a growing technology sector.
