Verkställas

Verkställas is a Swedish verb meaning to be carried out, implemented, or executed, especially in legal, administrative, or formal contexts. The active form is verkställa, which means to carry out or put into effect, while verkställas is the passive form used when the subject is the thing that is carried out.

Used primarily about laws, regulations, decisions, orders, or official measures, verkställas denotes turning a formal act into concrete action by an authority. Examples include: “Beslutet verkställs av myndigheten” (The decision is being carried out by the authority) and “Beslutet ska verkställas inom tre dagar” (The decision must be implemented within three days). In legal language, a decision can become “verkställbar” (enforceable) and the process is referred to as “verkställighet” or “verkställbarhet.”
