A Verhütungsring, also known as a vaginal ring, is a flexible, plastic ring that is inserted into the vagina to prevent pregnancy. It is a form of combined hormonal contraception, releasing both estrogen and progestin. These hormones work by preventing ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to block sperm, and thinning the uterine lining.
