Ventilkartusche is a small gas cartridge containing compressed carbon dioxide, used in CO2 inflators to rapidly inflate bicycle tires and other inflatable items. The cartridge is usually made of steel or aluminum and is designed to be pierced by the inflator to release the gas into the tire. Typical sizes are 12 g and 16 g, though other capacities exist depending on manufacturer and application.

Function and use: The cartridge is mounted in a CO2 inflator head, which punctures the cartridge and channels the CO2 through to the valve of the tire.
