Vekterknapper

Vekterknapper (weight buttons) is a term used in Norwegian technical documentation to describe a subset of push-buttons on weighing instruments that control weight-related functions. The term covers both digital scales and older mechanical balances, where certain buttons correspond to preset mass values or to actions affecting the measurement.

Common configurations include preset weight keys labeled with specific masses (for quick entry of 50 g, 100 g, etc.); tare or zero buttons that subtract the current load or reset the display; memory or hold buttons that capture a weight for later use; and calibration buttons that start a procedure when a known mass is placed on the pan.

On many devices, vekterknapper are grouped with the main control panel and may be touch-sensitive or physical push-buttons. In modern instruments, these controls are often accompanied by a display that shows the selected preset weight or the effect of the function.

Usage: In laboratories, warehouses, manufacturing lines, and retail scales, vekterknapper enable faster weighing workflows and more consistent results by reducing manual entry and minimizing error during tare, calibration, and hold operations.
