Vatids

Vatids are a fictional species originating from the planet Vattel. They are a sentient, bipedal species characterized by their leathery skin, which varies in color from deep blues to muted greens. Vatids possess large, multifaceted eyes that grant them excellent peripheral vision, and they communicate through a complex series of clicks and whistles, augmented by subtle changes in their skin pigmentation.

The Vattelian environment is known for its low gravity and abundant subterranean cave systems. Vatids have evolved to be agile climbers, with prehensile digits on both their hands and feet. Their diet consists primarily of bioluminescent fungi and small, cave-dwelling invertebrates.

Vatid society is organized into nomadic clans, each led by an elder who is chosen for their wisdom and experience. They have a deep respect for their natural environment and are known for their intricate weaving techniques, using fibrous plants found in the Vattelian caves.
