Vatandi is a fictional archipelago nation and the central cultural focus of a regional worldbuilding setting. The name denotes both the country and the ethnolinguistic group that inhabits its islands. In the lore, Vatandi society is closely tied to the sea.

The nation comprises 26 islands off the northern coast of the imagined continent of Nara. Its coastline features reefs, lagoons, and mangroves. The capital, Valora, sits on the largest island and serves as the political and economic hub. The population is around 700,000, predominantly ethnic Vatandi with minority communities from neighboring island groups and migrant workers.

Language: The Vatandi language, also called Vatandi, is the sole official language and is taught in schools nationwide. It is considered a language isolate with extensive loanwords from neighboring tongues; literacy rates are high and most residents are bilingual in a regional lingua franca.
