Vassiliki

Vassiliki is a village on the southern coast of the Greek island of Lefkada, in the Ionian Sea. It lies along a sheltered bay whose calm waters and easy access make it a popular seaside destination. The village centers on a small harbor used by fishing boats and excursion vessels, with a quay lined by tavernas and cafes and a cluster of guesthouses and small hotels.

Since the 1980s, Vassiliki has become renowned as a windsurfing and sailing hub. The bay frequently experiences reliable afternoon thermal winds that attract windsurfers from Greece and beyond. A number of windsurfing schools, rental shops, and equipment stores operate along the waterfront, and the village hosts regular training sessions and events.

Tourism is the main economic activity in Vassiliki, with visitors drawn to the beach, water sports, and local hospitality. The surrounding area features pine forests and olive groves, as well as traditional Greek architecture in stone and whitewashed houses. The harbor also serves as a starting point for boat trips to nearby islets and coastal coves.

Access to Vassiliki is by road from Lefkada Town and the island’s other settlements. In the summer season, the village experiences increased traffic and services oriented toward tourists, while maintaining its fishing village character.
