Varjumaailmas is an Estonian term that translates roughly as "in the shadow world" and denotes a hypothetical or fictional parallel realm characterized by shadows, secrecy, and otherworldly phenomena. In usage, it describes a space that exists alongside the ordinary world but remains distinct, often accessible through thresholds such as dusk, forests, caves, or dreams. The phrase is commonly employed in folklore, literature, and popular culture to evoke mystery and liminality.

Etymology and concept: The word combines varju (shadow) and maailm (world).
