It lies on the Varha Coast, with the Drinor Highlands to the north and the Lyr river valley to the south. The capital and largest city is Varha, a major port and university town.

Name and history: The name Varhaina derives from the Varha river and the early Varhani settlers. In the medieval era it developed as a duchy within the Kingdom of Norelia, gaining de facto autonomy after a regional accord and formal independence in the early nineteenth century. It later joined the United Confederation of Norelia.

Government: Varhaina is a parliamentary republic with a ceremonial president and a prime minister as head of government. The unicameral National Assembly has 68 seats, and elections are held every four years.
