The resulting image may appear dark, with loss of detail in the shadows. Overexposure happens when the shutter speed is too slow, the aperture is too wide, or the ISO sensitivity is too high, allowing too much light. This can lead to a washed-out image with blown-out highlights, where detail is lost in the brightest areas.
