Vaihtokytkijää

Vaihtokytkijää, often translated as changeover switch or transfer switch, is an electrical device used to switch a power supply from one source to another. Its primary function is to select between two or more different electrical sources to provide power to a common load. A common application is in backup power systems where a building's electrical supply can be switched from the main utility grid to a generator or another alternative power source during an outage. This ensures continuous operation of essential equipment.

There are different types of vaihtokytkijää, including manual and automatic versions. Manual switches require an operator to physically move a lever or toggle to change the power source.
