Vízsugárvágó

Vízsugárvágó, also known as waterjet cutting, is a subtractive manufacturing process that utilizes a high-pressure stream of water to cut through a variety of materials. The water is propelled at extremely high velocities, often exceeding the speed of sound, through a small nozzle. This focused jet of water erodes the material, effectively cutting it.

The process can be enhanced by the addition of an abrasive material, such as garnet or aluminum oxide. This abrasive waterjet cutting is particularly effective for harder materials like metals, stone, and composites, as the abrasive particles significantly increase the cutting power. For softer materials like foam, rubber, or plastics, pure waterjet cutting is often sufficient, as the water's kinetic energy alone is enough to perform the cut.

Vízsugárvágó technology offers several advantages. It is a cold cutting process, meaning it generates very little heat, which prevents thermal distortion, material degradation, and the creation of a heat-affected zone in the workpiece. Furthermore, it is an environmentally friendly option, as it uses only water and, if abrasive is used, it is typically a natural mineral. The absence of hazardous fumes or sparks also contributes to its safety.
