Ussurinpäärynä

Ussurinpäärynä, also known as the Ussuri honeysuckle, is a species of flowering plant in the Caprifoliaceae family, native to the eastern regions of Asia, including the Russian Far East, China, and Korea. It is a deciduous shrub or small tree, typically growing to heights of 3 to 8 meters, with a trunk diameter of up to 20 centimeters.

The plant is characterized by its opposite, simple leaves that are 5 to 15 centimeters long and have serrated edges. The flowers are white or pale pink, typically 1.5 to 2.5 centimeters in diameter, and produce a sweet, fragrant nectar. The fruit is a globose or ellipsoid capsule, about 1 centimeter in diameter, containing numerous small seeds.

Ussurinpäärynä is valued for its ornamental qualities, with its attractive flowers and foliage making it popular in gardens and parks. It is also used in traditional medicine in its native regions, where it is known for its potential health benefits, although scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited.

The plant prefers well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade, making it adaptable to a range of growing conditions.
