Upozoravanje

Upozoravanje is a term used in several South Slavic languages, including Croatian, Serbian, and Bosnian, to denote the act or process of informing someone about a potential danger, risk, or important situation in order to prevent harm or prepare for what might occur. It derives from the verb upozoriti (to warn) and shares its semantic root with pozor, meaning attention or caution. In everyday use, upozoravanje encompasses both informal cautions and formal alerts issued by authorities, organizations, or individuals.

In practical terms, upozoravanje can take many forms. Public authorities issue warnings to inform citizens about natural hazards, severe weather, health risks, or security threats. In consumer contexts, upozoravanje appears as safety warnings and precautionary notes on products, packaging, or advertising. In journalism and media, it may appear as public advisories or alerts about ongoing dangers. Within technology and digital interfaces, upozoravanje describes user alerts or notifications that draw attention to events such as low battery, security incidents, or important system messages.
