Underfoundation

Underfoundation refers to the preparatory layers applied to a surface before the final decorative finish. This can encompass a range of materials and treatments designed to improve adhesion, provide a smooth surface, conceal imperfections, or impart specific properties to the substrate. The exact nature of underfoundation is highly dependent on the subsequent finish and the base material being prepared.
